Sawmill cottage

Sawmill Cottage is an 1835 converted semi-detached barn that was originally part of the steam run saw mills of Parkend. The owner has made bespoke furniture and fittings to provide a spacious, 3-bedroom cottage, in the grounds of the owners’ property, available for 5 people. The cottage benefits from electric storage radiators and a wood burner for heating.

The cottage is on a quiet cul-de-sac that has the 11-mile family cycle trail passing by. The RSPB Nagshead bird reserve can be seen from the windows and walked to from the cottage.

Outside there is off road parking for 4 cars and steps down to the front door, where there is space for bicycles to be parked. To the rear of the cottage is a private patio with garden furniture available for the summer months.

Living Room

Downstairs, there is a generous hallway with a twin bedroom off to the right. The bedroom has French windows that lead out onto the patio.

A shower room with toilet and wash basin is next to the bedroom.

An under stairs space and cupboard provide plenty of storage.

To the left of the hallway is a kitchen with purpose made maple units and a dining table and chairs. Equipment includes fridge with freezer compartment, electric cooker, microwave with grill and washing machine.

From the Kitchen is a comfortable living area with woodburner and French windows onto the patio. Colour TV; DVD and CD player with radio are provided.

Bedroom one

Sycamore stairs lead to the first floor from the hall.

The generous sized Double bedroom, which incorporates an airing cupboard, has views over Parkend and the local woods.

There is also a good sized single bedroom upstairs.

Another shower room with toilet and wash basin is provided for the guests upstairs.

All the bedrooms include hanging space and chests of drawers.

Living Room

Parkend Village is located in the forest with many walks being available from the cottage.

The village has 2 pubs, which serve lunches and diners and there is a village store with post office.

The nearest towns of Coleford and Lydney are approximately 3 miles away in opposite directions.
